Recycle That Cell Phone!

By Chris Penn

Did you know that less than 20% of cell phones are recycled each year? Why? Because a lot of us do not know where to recycle them. But even more of us are just too lazy to be bothered with recycling. Unfortunately, the majority of these old and broken cell phones end up in our landfills.

Cell phones are manufactured from various metals, plastics and copper which can be recycled and reused to save our valuable resources. Recycling cell phones is a simple step you can take to reduce greenhouse emissions. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recycling one million cell phones per year is equivalent to taking 1,368 cars off the road.

So, here are a few of the many cell phone recycling options available. If you are looking for more information just Google it. Note: lazy people please continue to read on as these options are available for you too!
